The Sunshine Vitamin

Vitamin D is called the “Sunshine Vitamin” because it is primarily produced in the skin when exposed to the sun and very few foods in nature contain Vitamin D.  There are some small amounts in beef liver, cheese, egg yolks and fatty fish but not enough to meet our daily needs. And because we cover most of our skin in the cold weather, our bodies cannot make enough, so WE MUST SUPPLEMENT, especially in the colder months.

  • WHAT DOES VITAMIN D HELP WITH…
      -Strong bones
      -Reduces Cancer Risk
      -Healthy Heart
-Reduces Depression-Seasonal Affective Disorder, AKA “Cabin Fever”
      -Helps Control Blood Sugar Levels
      -Boosts Immune Function
      -Improves Memory
      -Helps Lower Cholesterol
  • WHAT YOU MIGHT FEEL IF DEFICIENT IN VITAMIN D…
      -Fatigue
      -Muscle pain/weakness
      -Chronic pain
      -Poor concentration
      -Headaches
      -Depressed/sluggish
  • HOW MUCH DO I TAKE??…
-Recommended Daily Allowance set by the Government for an adult is less than 1000 IU…… RIDICULOUSLY LOW IF YOU WANT TO FEEL AND BE WELL.
-DR MJ recommends 5000 IU per day.

Ask any of the Doctors about Vitamin D for your optimal health this winter.
